Yuko Tanigami
Yuko Tanigami has been a Yamaha Music Education System certified teacher at the Greene Music Education Center since 1998. She has taught piano (both private instruction and Yamaha group courses), composition, music theory, and music history for all ages and levels. She has over 20 years of teaching experience and has taught in both San Diego and Tokyo, Japan. She enjoys teaching children and adults and sees music as a universal language and as a tool for expressing and sharing feelings of joy and pain. She holds a B.M. degree in Piano Performance from Tokyo College of Music in Japan and an M.M. degree in Piano Performance from San Diego State University.
Elise ChoElise Cho received her B.M. from Wheaton College and her M.M. from Arizona State University. She has taught for Greene Music since the year 2001.
Mihoko Nemoto
Mihoko Nemoto received her B.A. from Kunitachi Music College.
Fei Yang
Fei Yang has been with Greene Music since 2000 and received her M.M. degree from Brigham Young University and another master's degree from University of Southern California. She has over 15 years of experience teaching children and adults.
Tanya Djangirov
Mrs. Tanya Djangirov joined Greene Music in 2003. She holds a B.A. in Music from Kurenkeev Music College and an M.M. in Musicology from the Institute of Arts in Bishkek, USSR, where she graduated with highest honors. Before becoming a certified Yamaha instructor, she has served as a professor of music history and theory at Bishkek Music College, USSR, and as a music instructor at Churter School in Kansas City, MO.
Philip "Jay Jay" Lim
Jay Jay demonstrates a new chord. Jay Jay Lim received his B.S. from the University of Arizona, his B.M. in Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music, and more recently, his M.M. in Jazz Studies from San Diego State University. He has been with Greene Music since 1999. In addition to teaching for the Greene Music Education Center, he has represented Greene music as a music therapist, facilitating music therapy groups at various residential and assisted living centers throughout San Diego County. He also participated as a research team member in the Yamaha-sponsored Music Making and Wellness project of 2002-2003. You may find him performing as a jazz pianist at various venues throughout San Diego, and he also serves as a music therapist at Bayview Behavioral Health Campus in Chula Vista.
Grace Kuo
Mrs. Grace KuoMrs. Grace Kuo is the newest addition to our team. She has completed certifications for both Yamaha and Kawai and has taught at the Kawai school in Taiwan. In addition to winning first place in a Taipei piano competition, she has also received a degree from Taipei Medical University.
Harley Magsino
Mr. Harley MagsinoHarley Magsino is Greene Music's first guitar instructor and first studied as a child under the Yamaha Education System in the Philippines. He has since completed his B.M. in jazz studies from San Diego State University and is currently finishing his M.M. there as well. He is experienced in teaching classical guitar, electric guitar, electric bass guitar, and acoustic bass. You will also find him performing around town in various venues.
Mr. Derek CutsingerDerek Cutsinger is Greene Music's newest guitar instructor. Derek will be giving private and group lessons for beginners and advanced players of all ages. Lessons will include many styles of guitar playing such as rock, blues, jazz, flamenco and classical. He has studied guitar in the U.S. and Spain and recently received his B.M. in Classical Guitar Performance from San Diego State University, where he is currently pursuing his M.M. degree. Derek can be seen performing througout San Diego as a soloist or with the Presidio Guitar Quartet.
